Open Letter to Joe Igbokwe

 Open Letter to Joe Igbokwe

From EMEKA TONY CHUKWU (ENUGU)
Greetings to you Mr. Igbokwe.
I decided to write this letter on this day, the 23rd of June 2021 over the direct and indirect war you’ve decided to wage against Ndi Igbo.
Since the inception of this APC government, you have tried all your best to paint the Igbos black just because, in your self-illusion, Tinubu will take over from Buhari and the only way to go about it is to wage media war, hates, and demonize the Igbos.

Let me remind you that, what Ndi Igbo are asking for today which is the right to self-determination was what Tinubu your boss supported as far back as 1997. Below photos are a reminder to where he stated that “HE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN ONE NIGERIA”.

Let me also remind you once again that you’re not the first Igbo man to play the card of One Nigeria. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe did it, Sir Alex Ekwueme played the card, etc. but today, I don’t think they would ever be happy for supporting the unity of a contraption created by Lugard for the mere purpose of subjugation of their people.

You have criticized IPOB and her activities held celebrations whenever they’re being killed, and insult them via your media platforms. But before your nose, the same thing IPOB did and were killed is the same thing Oduduwa nation agitators are doing yet, we’ve not heard of any clampdown on them and even your boss Tinubu has never demonized them!.

The major reason I’m writing this later is nothing but your antagonistic reactions over the ‘THE DOT NATION‘ Polo wore by senator Abaribe yesterday which went viral on media.

You described senator Abaribe as “A Senator and an ethnic bigot, an elder for nothing.”
The blood of those policemen and the uninformed youths killed in the South-East will be accounted for in the fullness of time, We cannot be mad all the time. I will soon write a book on Abaribe”.

Your reaction above shows nothing but pragmatism of deep hate against Ndi Igbo which is becoming a Deja Vu.

It was on national television that President Buhari openly regarded every Igbo man as a member of IPOB and called us a ‘DOT IN A CIRCLE. This is not the first time Buhari was making such kinds of statements. In 2016 during an interview with CNN, he regarded the Igbos as %5 just because we never supported his aspirations.

Sadly enough, in this two regional demonization from Buhari, you never condemned it rather allowed politics to becloud your conscience.
Between senator Abaribe who is trying to identify with the description from Buhari and Buhari himself, who should be regarded as a bigot?

Furthermore, linking Senator Abaribe with the activities of unknown gunmen shows you have a personal vendetta on him and you want the Federal Government to attack him which you know is not possible.

The activities of unknown Gunmen were caused by every so-called Igbo leader, starting from the governors down to the last man standing including you.

It was in this same East that Nigeria police and soldiers flooded our road with checkpoints, killed our people at will because of #50, and brutalized us. The people of the South East have cried out on countless occasions requesting for an end to this but because our governors are mere Vassals to Fulani(same people you’re serving) they feign ignorance and allow it to exacerbate.

I guess you celebrated the killings of our people during the python dance forgetting that those they killed have families too and who have on many occasions sought justice but it was swept under the carpet.

Just recently, a policeman opened fire on innocent people at an estate in Enugu, killing five and injuring four others and I bet you, the families would never get justice because he is a northerner. Did you condemn the act?

How do you expect Easterners to react when police and soldiers are aiding Fulani terrorists to attack our communities yet when you try to confront the terrorists, the security agencies will face you instead of them?

Mr. Igbokwe, I want to conclude this letter by advising you that if the reason for all these tantrums against Ndi Igbo was because the majority of us stand for independence, then you should be ready to have more heart attacks.

The fact is that the Igbos have tried all their best in developing Nigeria and maintaining her unity but what we get in return is genocide, military occupation, marginalization, etc. Wee says enough to it!.

You should also understand that he who joins his enemies to kill his own must understand that the enemy will never trust him.

Your actions against Ndi Igbos are becoming unbearable and very soon, you will force Ndi Igbo to accept you as an enemy and that very day, you and your household will be exiled from Igbo land.

I guess you have a wife and grown-up children but they’re not advising you to know the difference between playing politics and creating enemies, especially against your kingsmen!.

The people you’re serving today will surely disappoint you and in the end, don’t be surprised that Ndi Igbo too will reject you! We are tired of Nigeria and must exit it whether you like it or not!.

I am Emeka Tony Chukwu (Enugu State, Nigeria)
