NUJ Chapel Shows Sick Member Love

FROM OUR NEWS DESK (AWKA)
The Anambra State Council of the  Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ’s oldest Chapel, National Link yesterday(31/08/2022) paid an a-get-quick-recovery visit to one of her own, Comrade Nweke Nweke who has been down to illness and showed him love, having demonstrated that what affects one, affects all in the pen profession.

Recall that members of the National Link Chapel of NUJ, Anambra State Council had in their last monthly congress, moved a motion and resolved to visit Comrade Nweke Nweke due to the health condition that has kept him out of practice and other NUJ functions for over a year now.

Receiving the august visitors on the last day of August 2022, the sick but recovering member of the Chapel was very happy to receive his colleagues. He told his visitors about his pathetic health condition that even made some of his siblings, friends, and even clients to abandoned him, believing that he would die soon.

“I gave up hope for life as I couldn’t walk and I couldn’t stand as I was in messy condition but I must commend some members of this Chapel who despite a hard time, were sending money to me to pay for my hospital bills as I was being moved from one native home to another as the illness defiled every orthodox medicine.

“I never wish even my enemy the kind of what I passed through within the months I was on a sick bed. There is no type of leaves and herbs I did not drink in trying to survive. Some of my siblings, friends, and even my clients abandoned me but my greatest joy is that my creator did not abandon me and that was why I am seating before all of you today to testify the mercy of Him that made me. With this visit and my Chapel’s fat envelope handed over to me today, my blood has started pumping well once again”, Comrade Nweke Nweke stated.

Consoling the controversial NUJ member cum blogger, the outgoing Chairman of the National Link Chapel, Comrade Tempest Udeze who led the delegation, prayed to God for the quickest recovery of their member even as he charged him to bounce back to life and profession irrespective of his complaint of losing weight.

“Our coming today should give you hope that you are still loved and cared for by some people including your professional colleagues. Other members of our chapel who are not here fiscally, asked us to extend their heartfelt sympathy that knows no bounds to you and your family members, especially those who were with you in the herbal homes.

Those who made the delegation on behalf of the National Link chapel are Comrades Tempest Udeze, Eche Nwaobasi, and Bonvera Ndubuisi while some other members of the Chapel were on phone calls with their sick but recovering colleagues while white (not brown) envelope, containing undisclosed thousands of Naira was handed over to the sick Comrade to assist him in buying some food supplement and drugs.
