A renounced traditional ruler of the Isukwuato autonomous community in Abia State, His Royal Highness, Dr. Uqadiegwu C. Ogbonnaya has debunked the claims of some high place in the society on issues of fake news, adding that it is those who felt they are touched that tags such reports fake news.

Speaking as the father of the day at the 7th Triennial National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the traditional ruler who doubles as a lecturer, Gregory University Uturu Okigwe, Abia State also condemned the call for some individuals advocating for the state of an emergency in Anambra State, arguing that what is happening in some of the Northern states is not measurable with what is happening in the State of Anambra, “and yet no one has called for State of emergency in the Northern states.

Stating that hence the federal government is yet to declare a state of an emergency in any states in the Northern parts of the country where bandits and other hoodlums have taken over the affairs of the governance, he said that the insecurity posed in Anambra State remains not enough to declare a state emergency.

I am charging media practitioners in Nigeria not to be deterred in their called profession. I am advising media men not to leave any stone unturned in propagating and showcasing the image of Nigeria in a positive perspective.

I am, as a traditional ruler, pray and ask God for the peace, love, and togetherness of Nigerians as one brother and sister. The oneness of this nation must be maintained”; he said.
