Monarch Embarks on Model Police Station Construction
The Paramount Ruler of Amanuke Eri Kingdom in Awka North Local Government of Anambra State, His Royal Majesty Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo ogbududu 11 in his quest to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties of his subject has acquired seven plots of land for the construction of a modern and a model Police station in Enuagu Village in Amanuke Town.*
HRM Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo who has endeared himself to his subjects through his support to all round developmental activities in his kingdom including Human capital and infrastructural development stated that when completed the police station will be equipped with morden Security equipment and will serve as a model in Awka North which will guarantee adequate security of lives, properties and public infrastructures as well as attract investors into Amanuke Eri Kingdom.
The revered traditional ruler stated that Insecurity discourages investment and development in any community and town as it makes investment unattractive to business people because it increases the cost of doing business either through direct loss of goods and properties or the cost of taking precautions against business risks and uncertainty.*
The Ogbodudu 11 further highlighted that traditional rulers have a great role to play in maintaining peace and security in their various domains asall crimes emanate from homes, communities, villages and towns and the traditional Rulers are the closest body to the grassroots and the custodian of the people’s culture and tradition.
He opined that it is the obligation of the traditional rulers to teach and encourage their subjects, including parents, guardians, youths and children to embrace and promote the cultures and values of peace, good neighbourliness, love, tolerance, honesty and hard work in the interest of communal and national peace.
His Royal Majesty Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo further affairmed that the traditional institution is, therefore, naturally the first port of call on security matters and to nip crimes and insecurity in the bud in the country, therefore the traditional Rulers should coordinate the community watch system to identify the bad eggs among us, collaborate with the security agencies, sensitise and encourage their subjects to provide intelligence, expose the criminals in among the people, educate the people on government policies and programmes, and broker peaceful coexistence among ethnic and religious groups under their domains.
He described Traditional Rulers in Nigeria as the pillars of national security from the grassroots to the centre and re affairmed that there is an urgent need for synergy with security agencies in the onerous task of maintaining internal security in all communities which will turn guarantee a safe and secured Nigeria.
