Media Attack on Azubuogu; Count me Out – Ozigbo

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT, NNEWI

Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) frontrunner in the race for Anambra 2021, has debunked report making the rounds on social media, attributed to him in which Honourable Chris Azubogu, a federal lawmaker on the platform of PDP, is accused of orchestrating acts of political violence against a fitness event organised by the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo Foundation.

In a statement issued from Awka, signed by his media aide, Ephraim Adiele, today, Saturday, February 6, 2020, Mr Ozigbo regretted that enemies of peace and progress would manufacture a fake statement attacking a fellow PDP governorship aspirant and falsely attribute it to him.

Ozigbo disassociated himself and his campaign organisation from the said statement, titled, “‘Desist from Politics of Violence, Ozigbo Warns Azubogu”.
The respected business leader also condemned the politics of violence and use of fake news as a tool for propaganda to cause disaffection.

He also reiterated his respect for Hon Chris Azubogu, who is representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

“There is no way our principal or the VCO Campaign Organisation would issue such a statement which on the face of it is libellous,” the statement read in part.
“The malicious statement is at odds with the personality of Valentine Ozigbo who is a decent man, a man of peace, and one without enemies.”
