Guber Race: NRM Guber Candidate Steps Down for Dr. Odii

Aimed at unseating the All Progressive Congress, APC government in Ebonyi State and any other candidate from other political parties during the upcoming governorship election, the National Rescue Movement, NRM candidate in Ebonyi State, Comrade Tony Usulor last Wednesday, stepped down for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Chief (Dr.) Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii

Comrade Usulor who led the wards, local governments, and state executive members of NRM to Anyichuks Campaign Council office at Abakaliki added that since his manifesto and that of the PDP gubernatorial candidate, tallied, his intentions, he cleared, were for the good of the people of Ebonyi and not for his self-aggrandizement.

“I am stepping down for the reasons that my manifesto and that of the PDP gubernatorial candidate, (Dr. Ifeanyi Odii) tallies, my intention for the context is for the good of the Ebonyi people and as Dr. Ifeany Chukwuma Odii and I shares a same ideology, all I have to do is to unite with him for the common good for our people even as I assure you people (PDP) that my party (NRM) will vote for PDP”. He said.

Earlier in his address, NRM State Chairman, Comrade Stanley Ogodo stated that the PDP gubernatorial candidate is capable and of good intentions for the state; “and that was why we are standing behind him and we are going to work around the clock to see that he succeeds.

“We have gone through Dr. Odii’s manifesto and it’s the same as what the NRM Gubernatorial Candidate is fighting for, and we, therefore, urge our members statewide to vote for PDP this upcoming election as we merge as one body for common interests”. He added.

Appreciating everyone present at the event, especially the NRM for their positive intentions, the Director General, Anyi G’Emeya Campaign Council, Chief Edeze said that the government of PDP if given the mandate will be a unity government and nobody will be left aside when the party finally emerge victorious. He urge the NRM chairman to sensitize his members on the necessary information needed towards voting PDP in Saturday’s election.

Welcoming the members of NRM to the PDP family, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii’s Deputy Governorship candidate, Senator. (Barr.) Igwe Nwagu assured that hence NRM has identified with the party (PDP), and the party, he said, will identify with them. 

He however called on the electorate to always note that Ebonyi as a  young state, is still glorifying with cosmetic infrastructure, and the time to make the state proud is now through voting for PDP. He finally congratulate the Chairman of NRM and his executive for finding it positive to merge with the party (PDP) even as he emphasized more on his principal as a person that will lead Ebonyi perfectly with the interest of the people at heart.
