Comrade Tony Usulor Salutes Ebonyi State Workers; Says Their Plight is Pathetic

FROM OUR POLITICAL DESK (ABUJA)

One of the leading governorship aspirants in Ebonyi State, Comrade Tony Usulor has felicitated with the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ebonyi State chapter on the occasion of this year’s workers day, urging them not to relent in the effort to make the state better even in the midst of difficulties they are subjected to by successive administrations.

Comrade Usulor, in his May Day message, signed by his media consultant, Comrade Nweke Nweke, regretted that Ebonyi State workers were among the most underpaid staff across Nigeria, noting that the workers were always at the receiving end and marginalized in the scheme of things by both present leaders of the state, who claimed to be more interested in the provision of democracy dividends to the exclusion of the workers

The governorship aspirant said that he was disturbed by the plight of the state workforce where the state civil servants were still finding it difficult to cope with the man-made harsh economy of the State, the Accord Governorship Aspirant promised to ensure that the state workers enjoyed their rights and entitlements, if elected the next governor of the state.

He however promised to be workers friendly and has frowned at the present arrangement where retired civil servants were not paid their gratuity and pensions in Ebonyi State.

Comrade Usulor who hails from Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone assured that if elected, the payment of workers’ wages would not only be regular but enhanced, adding that he will provide more benefits to the members of labour unions since they are the engine room of every administration’

“I am delighted to join millions of Ndi-Ebonyi in celebrating 2022 Workers Day. This year’s workers’ day celebration is unique as the workers are assessing those aspiring to take over from the outgoing governor and their promises. My message to them is to do away with already expired politicians as their likes in the past have shown that they have nothing to offer hence the youths have come to take what belongs to them.

“My assurance is that Ebonyi State workers, (God willing if elected as the next governor) will enjoy all the privileges that are due to civil servants as stipulated by the laws of the land. May I at this juncture, call on the members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ebonyi State chapter to join hands in bringing about the needed change in Ebonyi State by aligning with our great party, Accord, and voting for its candidates because the party is committed to addressing the plight of their members”. He concluded.
