Behold! Gov. Umahi’s Supposed Successor

 Behold! Gov. Umahi’s Supposed Successor

FROM OUR POLITICAL DESK (ABAKALIKI)

Campaign on who will take over the cap, presently on the head of His Excellency, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State just like other states in the federation is gradually hitting up with Accord strategizing to take over the highest political position in the Salt State.
Our political editor cum Admin of this platform accosted Barr. Osinachi Oliver Oddom, who was in Accord’s first meeting of the year held at the Auditor General of Ebonyi State office hall, Mile 50 Abakaliki at the weekend. The legal luminary said he was in the meeting to declare his interest to contest the governorship position of Ebonyi State under the Accord’s platform.
The young and vibrant lawyer mentioned what he has in stock for the good people of Ebonyi State if given the mandate to include: Better welfare, inclusiveness, amongst other things._

His Explicit:

Is our pleasure meeting you Sir, may we get to know you .

My name is Osinachi Oliver Oddom, am from Ezzama, in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and am a legal practitioner

You attended Accord’s first meeting of the year held here in Abakaliki, are you a member of the party?

Yes, I am a full-fledged member of Accord,

Sir we suspect you are having a political ambition, are we right?

Yes I’m actually going for gubernatorial and I’m very much ready. (Cut in) don’t you think you are too young to govern Ebonyi state considering the burden in leadership?

Well, being young is a great advantage, Our state is young we all know, and what it needs by this time is a young and vibrant youth who should steer the affairs of the state, previously we gave chances to our old fathers to steer the affairs of the State and we’ve seen the outcome. They took decisions and actions without considering the adverse effect it will have on the youths and the unborn generation. Having seen what our people, especially the youths and the civil servants are passing through in our State, I said that it is now the time of youth and that is why I believe I’m not too young. and I have all the constitutional requirements for the office.

And why do you prefer to run under Accord to other political parties?

Accord has been my party, it’s the party I understand quiet well and I believe it’s not all about the party, but the individuals as well. Accord has a lot to offer to Ebonyians,.we need to come on a clean slate and it is only Accord that can give us that.

Is like Ebonyi state has adopted zoning system in governance, did you consider the zone you’re coming from because we learnt you are from the Central Senatorial District of the State?

Well, I didn’t put that into consideration and like I said earlier, who wins in an election is not determined by zoning, the government or any particular individual but by the people. So I think it’s left for the people to decide who they want to lead them. So it shouldn’t be from where the person comes from but what the person is willing to do for the people and his genuine passion for the betterment of the state, which I have. I am bringing a lot of new things into the state, first I am bringing better welfare package for Ebonyians and inclusiveness, and above all, policies and actions that will secure the future of the generations unborn.

Sir, do you think Accord is on the ground in Ebonyi State as a platform to produce the next governor of the State?

Yes, we are very much on the ground.

If given the mandate by the Ebonyi people come 2023, what is going to be your cardinal point?

Just like I said earlier, we are going to focus on better welfare package which encompasses Security, Empowerment, Health care, Education, etc and inclusiveness( the people need to be actively involved in the affairs of the state) that’s the core foundation of everything that we need as a people, better welfare package. Thanks for coming.
