The hope of few people who are opposing the mandate of Bridgehead market traders in Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State was few days ago thrown into the dust bin despite having fed the court of competent jurisdiction with scientific lies, therefore having secured judgement that sacked Mr. Sunday Obinze popularly known as Ogwu Ego by his admires and his entire executives.

Addressing the traders who had gathered to know how two people will share three kobo in the office of the market Union, the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Markets and Wealth Creation, Hon Uchenna Okafor,  told the traders that the government of Anambra had prepared to set up caretaker in the market when the government was served with the Court judgement

Commissioner Okafor fondly calls Wipper by his admires added that;”the government of Anambra State respect Court of competent jurisdiction. As a result, we had planned to come and remove the executive going by the High Court judgment but there was a stay of execution as a result of the court order which I have a copy” the Commissioner said..

“The Hon. Commissioner sounded clear that  the government have no other option than to wait until the outcome of the Appeal Court judgement”, the Commissioner also stated.

Before the arrival of the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Markets and Wealth Creation, Hon Uchenna Okafor to the market, the Pesident General, PG, of Onitsha Bridgehead market, Chief Sunday Obinze had informed the traders, represented by the Lines Chairmen and Secretaries that the purported Board of Trustees had  sacked him and his executive through High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice B. A. Onyefulu

‘As a result of this, we’ve gone to Appeal court to challenge the judgment. Let me make it clear, out of those who sued us, only one group is recognised, every other one is not known by the traders” My lawyer has served the plaintiffs on the notice of Appeal and we are ready to take the matter to Supreme court”R

Recall that Mazi Chukwudi Ekwueme, Mr. Emeka Ilonze and R. C Ezenwegbu accused by the market leadership of championing civil disorder in the Onitsha Bridgehead market, had on December 12th and 14th respectively tendered letter of their resignation from the office of the Board of Trustees, which enabled them to contest in respective positions in the market leadership election but when they contested and failed, they regrouped and started fermenting trouble in the market.
