CAN Pour Encomiums on Detained Nnamdi Kanu *Warns Religious Leaders Hobnobbing with Corrupt Politicians

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Anambra State branch has asked Christian religious leaders in the country to avoid associating with corrupt political leaders.
Chairman, Anambra State CAN, Ven. Joseph Nweke who spoke to our correspondent in Onitsha at the weekend said by avoiding people who have created a hardship on the citizens through their policies and actions, they may learn from their evil ways and turn to God.
While giving his Christmas and New Year message to Nigerian Christians on the forthcoming Yuletide season,Ven.Nweke who is the Archdeacon,Inland- Town Archdeaconry, Onitsha explained that hardship currently being experienced in Nigeria today was as a result of actions and policies taken by politicians which he noted have never favoured the masses since the inception of this administration.
While urging Christians, especially Igbos from the South East Region of the country to be united in the struggle against their continued enslavement in Nigeria, the cleric poured encomiums on the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),Mazi Nnamdi Kanu describing him as a leader who has sacrificed his life and comfort for Ndigbo in Nigeria.
“Christians, especially Igbos should come together in love and unity against their enslavement in their own country. IPOB, MASSOB, BZM, BIM should all come together and fight a common cause which is being championed by Nnamdi Kanu”
“In the spirit of Christmas all the Biafran agitators should show love and unity on fellow Biafrans.Biafra is in our blood.Our father’s recognised the need to fight against enslavement which was championed by the Late Ikemba Nnewi,Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, but lost gallantly”.
“We are not calling for war nor violence.We are calling on the leadership of this country to treat all tribes and religions as one so as to sustain the genuine aspirations of Nigerians”.
The fiery CAN Chairman further urged Nigerians to learn from current happenings in Nigeria’s political leadership by avoiding corrupt and dishonest leaders.
