PDP Scribe Fingers APC over High Profile Drug Abuse, Insecurity

National Secretary-elect of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has identified lack of employment opportunities and deliberate neglect of the Nigerian youths by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the root cause of drug abuse and insecurity in the country.

Sen. Anyanwu who spoke through his Special Adviser, Media, Ikenna Inuoha maintained that for the government to have refused to carry out its major responsibilities of engaging the youths meaningfully, is an indication that such institution has lost its direction and relevance.

According to him, the inability of the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari to take charge of the governance of the country to guarantee the safety of lives and properties has heightened tension and increased agitations across various geopolitical zones.

The Chief Scribe of the main opposition party in the country added that as a result of the debilitating effects of APC’s directionless leadership, the already frustrated and jobless youths had resorted to drug-taking and peddling to pacify the ugly situation.

He regretted that by indulging in such illicit drug trading, some unlucky ones end up losing their consciousness resulting in sudden deterioration of their health conditions.
Anyanwu, therefore, called on Nigerian youths to hold the APC government responsible for their present condition in a country blessed with huge natural resources, regretting that all efforts in the past to make the party sit up yielded no result.

While expressing optimism that the current challenges will soon give way when PDP takes over the mantle of leadership in 2023, therefore appealed to Nigerians to join the party without further delay as a condition to remedy the ugly situation.
