Some APGA members who volunteered information when our correspondent visited the scene of the incident, said the State first-class citizen was still at Odekpe, Ogbaru council area on campaign rally when the news went viral that policemen and the gunmen were in a gun battle at the venue of the Ihiala campaign ground.

Although the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochi confirmed that there was an attempt to attack APGA rally in Ihiala even as he made it known that policemen and other security personnel jointly gave the gunmen what they bartered for as the security men, he said overpowered the hoodlums by not only repelling them but went on and recovered 4 utility cars from the gunmen while sizable causalities were recorded on the side of the agents of darkness.

They were awaiting for Governor Obiano to arrive before they struck but reverse was the case” APGA member said.
