Nnewi North Plans Heavy for Valentine Ozigbo

…says Ozigbo best fit for Anambra’s top job

The People’s Democratic Party family in Nnewi North Local Government Area has announced its readiness to host what it describes as the ‘mother of all rallies’ for Mr. Valentine C Ozigbo the candidate of the party on the November 6 Anambra governorship election.

Mr. Ozigbo who has been on a campaign tour of the 21 local government areas of the state with his #KaAnambraChawapuOzigbo message is scheduled to be received at the DCC Field, Nnewi on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Rising from their strategy meeting held at the party’s local government secretariat in Nnewi on Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Nnewi North LGA chapter of Valentine Ozigbo Campaign Organisation headed by Hon. Amobi Chikwendu said Nnewi will give Ozigbo the resounding welcome he rightly deserves.

According to Chikwendu who previously served as an elected Council Chairman of Nnewi North LGA, efforts have been put in place to make Wednesday’s rally and Ozigbo’s #KaAnambraChawapu governorship campaign a huge success.

“As you witnessed, we just concluded our strategy meeting for the upcoming rally. Nnewi North wants to do for Ozigbo what it knows how to do best. In terms of attendance and general organisation, we want to surpass the expectations of our governorship candidate, stakeholders and state officers of the party that will accompany him to Nnewi.”

Chikwendu disclosed that Chief Olisa Metuh, former National Publicity Secretary of the party, endowed the campaign organisation with some resources to fine tune activities to receive Ozigbo, “the incoming governor of Anambra state, by the special grace of God.”

“Chief Metuh’s endowment and other resources provided by our parent body in Awka have been fully deployed. We have charged our various ward coordinators to engage in massive ward level mobilisation and also enlist the services of credible people who will help deliver Valentine Ozigbo. We are preparing to host a good rally. Even much more than that, we are preparing for a great outing come November 6.

“What Anambra needs now is a governor who will run the state with same level of efficiency and productivity found in the private sector. We need a governor who will clear the debts this government is accumulating, execute people-oriented projects and then leave behind some savings for the successor government.

“Valentine Ozigbo performed creditably at Transcorp PLC where he served as the Group Managing Director. We are confident that he will replicate that success in Anambra State. He is youthful. He is humble. He has the skills, contacts and emotional maturity needed to govern Anambra well and draw this state back from total infrastructural and systemic colapse.”

In his remarks, Hon. Nonso Amachukwu, the Secretary of the Local Government Campaign Council and also the Chairman of Nnewi North chapter of the PDP, says Nnewi is solidly behind Ozigbo despite having their brother on the ballot.

“We wish our brother well. But the fact remains that he is running on a fringe political platform while Valentine Ozigbo is running on a national platform. Anambra elections is both strategic and a precursor to the 2023 general election. Ozigbo is a polished and an untainted candidate. Our platform, the PDP, is the most strategic for Ndi Igbo at this time. The massive support Ozigbo enjoys and his anticipated victory at the polls should therefore not be surprising to anyone.”

The strategy meeting hosted by Chairman, VCO Campaign Council, Nnewi North, Hon. Amobi Chikwendu, was well-attended by dignitaries including; the State Woman Leader of the PDP, Mrs. Justina Nwafor; State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Nnamdi Nwangwu; Deputy Chairman, VCO Campaign Council, Nnewi North, Chief Emma Udegbunam; Secretary, VCO Campaign Council, Nnewi North, Hon. Nonso Amachukwu; Deputy LG Chairman of the Party, Ernest Ejielo; Secretary of Nnewi North PDP, Chijioke Ofodile.

Others are former Chairman, Nnewi North LGA, Hon. Azuka Okeke; prominent grassroots mobiliser, Mrs. Ifeoma Egwudo; Member, Publicity Committee, Chima Christian; Chief Emma Mgbemena, all the ward chairpersons of the party, all the ward campaign council charispersons and other party officials attended the meeting.

PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo, a multiple award winning CEO, picked Mrs. Azuka Enemo, a seasoned administrator, an academic and a public servant, to deputise him. Their Ka Anambra Chawapu message of hope is being received with excitement across the length and breadth of the state. Their campaign promises to usher in a fresh era of shared prosperity for Ndi Anambra.
