Libelous Publication: Let’s Meet in Court; Blogger Dares Gov. Obiano

Suspecting that the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on ANSIPA, Hon. Philip Emeka Chinwuba might have some deadly unrevealed secret about his principal which made him to dare the governor to meet him in Court following his arrest cum parade by the Anambra State Police Command, the man who is currently undergoing interrogation in the hands of the police in the state for allegedly deforming the character of the Governor in an article published on his Facebook wall, the suspect is in full courage that Court remains the last hope for the common man

Hon. Chinwuba who hails from  Ifiti Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State is accused of having on or about 15/1/2021 originated and circulated on various social media platforms alleged false and malicious publication captioned “COVID-19 in Awka, the State capital.

Part of the alleged libelous Facebook publication read thus; (i).”Corona virus has hit govt house Awka with more than 30 senior govt officials including Governor Obiano on isolation and that late Igwe Kelly of Igbariam contracted the virus after visiting the governor to thank him for lifting his suspension and died three days to the last ofala celebration.

(ii).”That the virus was brought into govt house by Mrs Maureen Odili from USA who is the wife of Chief of Staff to the governor”(iii).”That Mr. Primus Odili was having sexual affairs with light skin woman and as such Maureen bleached herself and came to show off her new look…etc”: so contained in the publication

Chinwuba who is currently undergoing interrogation in the State Police Command for having allegedly circulated series of  the said falsehood and inciting messages which, according the police was made for the purpose of causing annoyance, criminal intimidation, enemity, hatred,.ill will, or needless anxiety contrary to Section 24(1)(b) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention Etc) Act, 2015.however, denied knowing anything about the publication, stressing that he was robbed of his laptop, phones and other communication gadgets by armed men in Anambra State and he incidented the case at B Division, Anambra State Police Command.

Parading the suspect, the Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Haruna Mohammad said; “the state Police Command wishes to confirm to the general public that, one Mr Philip Emeka Chinwuba ‘m’ aged 56years of Chinwuba Street,Aguleri in Anambra East LGA of Anambra State was arrested following an investigation the Command is undertaking that required his explanation on the role he  allegedly played in the crime.

“The above background is necessary to underscore the resolve of the Police Command to unravel those behind the documents being circulated online as well as the malicious publications. The allegations contained therein no doubt require proof and the Command intends to get to the root of the matter.
“The involvement of the suspect so far is to the extent that circulation of both documents have been traced to him. He therefore has a duty to explain either his direct involvement in authoring both or otherwise. 

“The Public may kindly note that the laws are clear on the issues raised here and will therefore be applied accordingly.Suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded. 

But responding to questions from media practitioners at Awka today, (26/01/2021) the man who addimitted he initited a Facebook platform with the name ‘Citizen Watch Intiative’, hinted that the same platform was used for the propagating the winning of Governor Obiano’s second term in office, wondering why he should use the same platform to floor His Excellency, the Governor.

“My name.is Hon. Philip Emeka Chinwuba, I am from Ifiti, Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State. I am the SSA to the Executive Governor of Anambra State on ANISPA,  Anambra State Investment and Protection Agency. All I know about the allegation is that my laptop, phones and my other media communication gadgets were robbed of me and I reported the incident to the police and I believe someone might have hacked those my phones and done the damage.

But since nobody wants to hear me, I think it is better I meet the Governor in Court and that’s all I have to say; he declined further comment
