Questions Before Ex-Governor Willie Obiano in EFCC Custody
As tongue waggles on while the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is still keeping and interrogating the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Maduarochukwu Obiano, 247thirdeye.com has gone underground, aimed at reviewing the Federal Allocation received by Anambra State Government as documented by the National Bureau of Statistics -NBS and below is what was due for the State from 2014-2020:
The year 2014(40.2bn),
The year 2015(31.5bn),
The year 2016(25.7bn),
The year 2017(32.3bn),
In the year 2018(42.8bn),
The year 2019(38.6b),
The year 2020(39.8bn)
Grand Total – N251bn for 7years.
This platform still went granular and break this down by the Local Governments as regards the amount each Local Government received within the time under review. But before then, it is proper to add some perspective to this because figures don’t lie.
With the record before our newsroom, it shows that Anambra State Government received an average of N36.7bn yearly as Local Government Allocations, breaking it down shows that each Local Government averagely received N12bn for 7years.
Investigation revealed that each Local Government in the State got an average of N1bn yearly, thereby showcasing that each of the Local Governments received an average of N100m monthly beauty of numbers.
However, in what looks like incriminating the outgone governor, one of the Transition Committee Chairman in one of the Local Government Areas in the state under the condition of anonymity alleged that the Transition Chairmen got an average of N5m monthly to cover their overhead and it is believed that Chief Willie Obiano may graciously tell EFCC where the balance of the Local Government Allocations was kept.
One still believes that the money should either be used to cover both recurrent and capital expenditure or remain as Bank Balances even as 247thirdeye.com wonders why the security breakdown and lack of employment opportunities for Anambra youths remained stagnant during Obiano’s regime.
