2023: MASSOB Prefers Sovereignty To Igbo President
By KRiS EMMANUEL. (ONITSHA)
The Chief Ralph Uwazuruike-led Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, otherwise called Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, insisted yesterday that its interest, for now, was how to actualize a
the sovereign state of Biafra and not the 2023 Igbo president.
Fielding questions from newsmen while reacting to the bid for Igbo to clinch the 2023 presidency, the BIM-MASSOB Anambra East leader, Anambra state, Elder Nwaorah Dennis, stated that “it is Biafran sovereignty that we want to actualize through nonviolence approach and not 2023 Igbo president”
“We have gone beyond the membership of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation, UNPO, we are now members of United Nations, UN, and the UN leadership is satisfied with our nonviolent approach in the struggle to actualize a sovereign Biafran state.”
Elder Dennis who was flanked by his Director of Information, comrade Charles Igbokwe, pleaded to the UN to grant sovereignty to Biafrans this year having been grossly marginalized and made to suffer untold hardship in a country where it is part and parcel of.
He recalled that the nonviolent approach which he said was worthy of emulation instead of the use of violence in actualizing a sovereign state, was the brainchild of the leader and founder of the movement, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.
Contributing, his Director of Information, comrade Igbokwe, added that, “Igbo man is not appointed membership of any of the key positions in Nigeria and even the ones we are appointed to head, we are almost rendered ineffective”
“Today National Identification Number, NIN, the collection still poses a problem in Biafran land. If we now agree to have the 2023 presidential
slot the North will object. So when we get the sovereignty we form our government”
“The Igbo presidential aspirants are just wasting their time and maybe they want money to step aside” he stated.
