2023 Guber Race: PDP Strategizes to Clinic Victory
FROM OUR POLITICAL DESK (ABAKALIKI)
In line with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC 2023 gubernatorial election guidelines, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ebonyi State chapter has revealed the party has strategized to clinic into victory during the next election, even as PDP made it clear their campaign is going to showcase their readiness to take óver the governance of the state after Engr. Dave Umahi.
This was made known by Elder Joseph Uwa, one of the stewards of PDP, Ivo Local Government Area during a cross-section with media practitioners in his country home at the weekend.
Elder Uwa who accused the APC supporters of having engaged in the destruction of the candidates of the opposition political parties’ posters and billboards, also calls on the Governor to work towards bringing decorum cum the enabling environment for the opposition parties to campaign in Ebonyi State.
Speaking on the attack on the APGA’s governorship candidate, Prof. Benard Odoh at Izzi recently, the PDP steward said the best way to end the reckless attacks on the candidates of the opposition parties and campaign of calumny by the ruling APC is for the governor to order for the arrest and prosecutions of all that were involved on the attack of the ÀGPA governorship candidate.
“To me, I see politics as a game, not warfare and it is wrong to attack the opposition as been witnessed in Ébonyi Staté since the inception of democracy. A lot of people have been publically murdered by ruling parties in the past and we need to stand out to call for an end to the barbaric act, knowing fully well that killing is not part of our culture in our State.
“I expect that His Excellency, Engr. Dave Umahi should do something meaningful to arrest the ugly situation of public murder in the name of politics, having known that any life wasted during and after the election cannot come back and it is hightíme we need to educate our youths on the dangers of killing an innocent soul under the guise of politicking”. Elder Uwa said.
